2006 Festival
The 2006 Festival was held on 8th and 9th July and was a great success, despite some inclement weather. We have added the first of the pictures from the Festival under Gallery/Festival 2006. In excess of 5000 people visited over two days and were treated to a woodland extravaganza featuring over 100 participants from all around the country. The 2007 event promises to be even bigger and better!

At the heart of the Festival is the message ‘wood is good’. To highlight this, exhibitors demonstrating a wide variety of woodland crafts and skills will be on show with many giving festival-goers the opportunity to have-a-go and turn their hand to wood. The exhibitors will include furniture makers, wood carvers, charcoal makers, basket weavers, willow workers and bodgers (wood turners).
The Chopwell Forest Festival is about much more than just trees and timber, it’s about having fun in a beautiful woodland setting. To compliment the wood-based exhibitors is a wide range of entertainment: from pony rides and archery, to magic and theatre performances, jugglers and top quality acrobats.
